Blepharoplasty – Eyelids New York City Eye Lift

Blepharoplasty

During a blepharoplasty, excess skin and fat are trimmed away from the eyelids. Depending on your aesthetic needs, you can either get your lower or upper eyelids lifted; you can also get a combination.

After the blepharoplasty procedure, regardless of which eyelids are getting lifted, the incision(s) will be closed using medical sutures or surgical tape. If sutures are used, they can sometimes be dissolvable; in this case, you will not have to visit the surgeon to get them taken out at any point.

The blepharoplasty procedure is very safe and will be performed with a great deal of attention given to your comfort and well-being. Learn more from a visit to our office. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Debra Kroll has years of experience and a passion for the field. Contact us today to set up a consultation.

Medium Chemical Peel – Skin Rejuvenation New York

Medium Chemical Peel

The effects of aging show up prominently on a person’s face. Wrinkles, acne scars, discoloration, and many other irregularities tell a story – and not a pleasant one. If your skin looks dull, wrinkled, and worn, you’re in luck – a medium chemical peel will ease the harsh effects of the aging process.

After a solution of chemicals is applied to the target areas, age-damaged skin tissues begin to peel away; this process continues until new skin tissues have grown in its place. During medium chemical peel recovery, which typically takes two weeks, avoid heavy sun exposure and keep the treated area protected from sun damage.

Botox – Skin Rejuvenation New York

Skin Rejuvenation New York

Do you long to look in the mirror and see a younger you? Botox is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures being done today, and for good reason. It’s less expensive, less invasive, and more convenient than surgery, and it has a variety of uses. It can erase wrinkles, remove neck bands, ward off chronic headaches and frequent sweating, reduce the size of jaw muscles, and more.

Botox works by weakening or paralyzing the muscles’ response to nerve signals. Because these muscles are relaxed and less responsive, they are not overused (one of the main causes of wrinkle formation) and are unable to become tense again.

Botox involves a great degree of precision, so finding a talented cosmetic surgeon with a great deal of experience is key. Dr. Debra Kroll is a skilled, board-certified cosmetic surgeon with years of experience. At your consultation, you’ll discuss what Botox can do for you. Side Effects – Botox Frown Lines New York

Botox Frown Lines New York

When using Botox to correct frown lines, there are several potential side effects. Some of these are run-of-the-mill issues and are easily corrected, others rare but with more dramatic effects. It’s helpful to be aware of all of these side effects when going in for Botox injections.

Common side effects of Botox injections include minor swelling and bruising at or around the injection site. These usually fade quickly in the days following the procedure. You may also experience temporary headaches or nausea. To learn more about recommended treatments, contact your physician.

After getting frown lines treated with Botox, patients sometimes experience the formation of bunny lines, wrinkles on the bridge of the nose, as a result of the overcompensation of different muscle groups. Thankfully, Botox can be used to preemptively treat this or as a corrective technique after they have formed.

A rare side effect of Botox used on frown lines is drooping eyebrows or eyelids. It can also cause an overly raised eyebrow, often called the “Spock” look (referencing the Star Trek character); this can be fixed with Botox. Since Botox is temporary and will wear off after about four months, these issues will also go away naturally.

Both of the aforementioned side effects can be caused by Botox that has either migrated or has been incorrectly targeted, thus affecting the wrong muscles. Migration of Botox is often caused by pressure around the injection site. Because of this, make sure to avoid pressing on the area. Incorrect injection targeting can be avoided by choosing a plastic surgeon with a great deal of precision and experience.

Dr. Debra Kroll has the experience needed to give you accurate, precise, and effective Botox that will ease and erase your frown lines. For an appointment with Dr. Kroll, contact our New York office today.

Bunny Lines – Botox New York

Botox New York

Bunny lines – also called nasoglabellar lines, scrunch lines, or wolf lines – are wrinkles that appear across the bridge of the nose and on the sides of the bridge. They can be horizontal, diagonal, or vertical. These lines can be erased with the use of Botox injections.

Bunny lines are caused by squinting, sniffing things, laughing – basically any expression or action that tenses the nasalis, procerus, levator nasi alaequae, or compressor naris muscles. They also come about as a result of getting Botox injections to erase frown lines, or glabellar lines. If you regularly get glabellar-line Botox and bunny lines haven’t formed yet, preventative Botox injections may be an option worth pursuing.

Botox works by making certain neurotransmitters less able or completely unable to cause facial muscles to move. The expressions that are created by these muscles become less severe, letting the muscles relax. As a result, the wrinkles fade.

To erase bunny lines, plastic surgeons inject Botox into the muscles on the sides of the bridge of the nose. Sometimes, the main bridge area also requires an injection. Due to the nose’s proximity to the eyes and mouth, it’s best to only use small, precise amounts of Botox to relax away bunny lines. This requires a skilled plastic surgeon, so make sure your surgeon of choice has the experience needed to execute the procedure with care.

The fading or disappearance of bunny lines will occur anywhere from two days to two weeks after the procedure. They can last three to five months, after which the Botox will have been harmlessly absorbed into your system. You will then need new Botox injections.

Turn back the clock with Botox – remove those unwanted bunny lines with a visit to board-certified cosmetic surgeon Dr. Debra Kroll. For a consultation, contact our New York office today!

Side Effects – Botox New York

Botox New York

Though Botox injections are far less invasive than most plastic surgery procedures, they do have the potential to cause certain side effects. Before getting Botox, find out which side effects the popular wrinkle treatment is associated with.

One of the most publicized potential side effects of Botox injections is a lack of facial expressiveness. Wrinkles are caused by the overuse of muscles through common facial expressions. Botox works by weakening or paralyzing contracted muscles, causing them to relax, making the wrinkles they cause disappear. As a result, the expressions these muscles are associated with happen less often. This all depends on the site of the injection, so make sure to ask your plastic surgeon for more information before getting any injections.

Another potential side effect of Botox is the temporary sagging of eyelids and eyebrows. This is not a common side effect. It’s caused by the downward migration of forehead- and brow-region Botox. To avoid migration, stay upright for six hours; do not lie down or bend over. Also, make sure to avoid touching or applying any sort of pressure to the injection area for 12 hours.

Mild bruises, pain and redness at the location of the injection, nausea, headache, and dry eyes are other potential side effects of Botox injections. None of these effects are incredibly severe, and any you experience should be temporary. It you’re experiencing extreme versions of these or ones that last for prolonged periods of time, contact your physician immediately.

Though it’s impossible to eliminate all risk from surgery, the best way to reduce the chance of negative side effects is by selecting a skilled, experienced, and respected surgeon like board-certified cosmetic surgeon Dr. Debra Kroll. To set up a Botox consultation, contact our office.
